SHERLOCK: SEASON THREE

SHERLOCK: SEASON THREE

(BBC, You're Killing Your Fans!)

The whole cast and crew for the BBC's Sherlock have been astounded by the success 2012 brought for this series. Now, with the casting of Season Three pushed back into March, although we are assured this will not affect the release dates (announced on Twitter by Sue Vertue), many fans are wondering whether this will be the last season of the show.

By all news straight from the team behind the show, this is NOT the case. Both the stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, along with Steven Moffat, want to see their Holmes and Watson in their later forties and fifties - and have said, on several occassions - that they really enjoy filming this witty series and want to go on producing episodes.

The word getting people thinking the upcoming season is Sherlock's last is the word 'bow' - in reference to Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes story His Last Bow. Nevertheless, Gatiss and Moffat (the head writers of BBC Sherlock) are known to often produce non-literal takes on the clue words they give.

It appears we will have to just wait and see, but until then, remember hearsay is just hearsay, and never to theorise without data!
